To start with 87 k5 4 inch all spring lift the rest stock. Yesterday I had my 35x12.50s switched from a 15x8 to a 15x12 rim. Now I am gettin a noise coming from somewhere in the rear of the truck. It sound kinda like a grinding noise that is rotational with the wheel speed... If that makes any sense. So I know that with the wheels sticking out it puts more strain on everything but what would show up immediately like that?

Rust knocked loose on the rear drums sounds right... wheels too much offset making tires rub the springs... Many little things, jack it up, chock the front wheels and put it in neutral, give it a spin and see where the sound is.

If it started as soon as you took it off the jack, your new wheels might be scrubbing on something.
The farther you go out, the more load you put on the wheel bearings, so if one was marginal it might have started speaking up.

But, I'm betting on a clearance problem.

If you don't have a set of jack stands to lift the entire rear end with, jacking up and pulling one wheel might show you the problem.

If its a clearance problem, you should be able to see where its scrubbing when you take the wheel off. Either on the truck, or the inside of the wheel.

check for wheel weights rubbing on stuff. with some aftermarket rims in the wide width thay are close to parts and clip on wheel weights rub.

These wheels have been mounted on the truck before with a set of 35x17.50s do I don't think its rubbing the springs but ill check as soon as it stops raining.

I'm sure its been thought of , but the parking brake isn't slightly depressed is it. I did that on my burnt burb just the other day. It was pushed down a couple of clicks by accident.

Quick update- I checked the truck today and there was nothing rubbing and I'm really starting to think its the bearings on the left side of the rear axle. There is a little play in the axle on both sides of the rear axle, is this normal? And if I have to replace the bearings how involved is it?
