I installed a 8" Superlift on my 90 K5 over a month ago. Now the springs are making this horrible popping noise when I am drive around slow and making turns.
Anyone know or have the samething happen to them.
I have all springs, no blocks. I have also retightened the ubolts.
Thanks

I realize you said that you re-torqued your u-bolts....but go back and crank down on them. Did you use an impact? Those are supposed to be torqued to 140 ft lbs.
I can say with a certain amount of confidence that that's what's making the popping noises you describe. Same thing happened to me. I'd get weird noises coming from the rear when accelerating, turning, and especially braking.
Hope that helps out.

I just went through this with my 1990 blazer. The stock springs would make a "CLUNK" noise when I would brake and turn corners. I loosened all four U-bolts and re-torqued them. Remember, that you have to tighten the bolts criss cross pattern i.e. 1&4 2&3 and to approx 140 ft. lbs. After I did this the CLUNK went away and my truck was once again stable.

Dan...

I had a slight clunk when my lug nuts were lose before... damn weak air impact.

Should I loosen the ubolt up and then retighten to 140?
I "exercised" my springs tonight. I was stuffing the 38's into the fender wells. I was hoping that the creeking(?) would stop. It is still there alittle. I will to the ubolts tommorrow and let everyone know what happens.

Thanks for the time and help,
Mike B
