I know guys this is not the best place for this question but of all the internet forums everyone here knows the most. So my question is my girlfriends 2000 Kia Sportage with a 2.0 in it dual over head cam's has a small issue. Driving it the other night it randomly died while driving. The motor just shut off. All electrical works, starter turns over it just wont start. I have checked if the fuel pump is working and even jumped the relay with a paper clip. I checked all the fuses and they are still good. I then dug into the spark plugs/coil. I took the spark plug wires out and then i tried to see if there was a spark by using a volt meter and having someone turn over the motor.

Nothing, however the new big issue that concerned me is the farthest back spark plug near the firewall is FULL of oil. completely over the top of the spark plug. All the other holes in the intake are clean as a whistle except for the back one. Does anyone have ANY experiance with these motors? Anything dual over head cam? Im baffled all around on what to do to make this run aside new coils/wires/plugs/relay but i dont wanna dump few hundred bucks into it without knowing it will fix it. thanks for anyhelp guys!

Not sure if this has a timing belt or chain but make sure if it has a belt that the timing belt hasn't broken. If it has you are looking at pulling the head and fixing all the bent valves.

Those have T-belts. and the oil in the spark plug hole is a leaking valve cover gasket.
Does it crank over really fast like no compression?

eh turns over like any other time when starting it just w/ out the starting point. I also called a kia dealership today b4 i discovered this oil mess and they said i'd DEF know if i broke a timing belt... woulda made vicious noises which it hasnt. anyway to test just the coil packs to see if they work?
