My buddy has a 93 pathfinder and when turning the corner there was a bang and the front driverside end just dropped. We jacked it up and I took a look underneath but I can't see any broken parts. There is no springs of any sort under the front end either. Is the truck supported by the shock somehow? Any help would be appreciated.
Thnx

It's a torsion bar suspension. Threre is a keyed bar that runs from the tranny x-member into the lower a-arm. Each end is hex shaped, and the bar is the spring it twists to allow movement. Just guessing but it could be the key at the x-member end broke, or the torsion bar itself broke. Hope that helps.

What mtblazer89 said.Same thing happened to my freind. My freind had a '91 hardbody that stripped the splines on the torsion bar.Broke a few other small pieces as well.

Thanks for the replies. I saw the torsion bar itself wasn't broken but I have no idea about the ends. Is there anything I should be aware of when I go to remove it? Do I need to go pick up a key? I haven't worked on an ifs system before.

Thnx
