Should a upper radiator hose be oval to flat shaped? I have people that tell me that it doesnt matter, and others say its a problem.

All the ones I've ever seen are round ... not-round makes me worry about the condition of the hose. The nice ones have a spiral wire wound down the middle to keep them from kinking and collapsing.

When It go`s flat that means theres suction in the system.Somethings wrong and for the life of me I cant remember what...damn

If upper hose collapses when it cools off, it could be vent valve in radiator cap or a pinched line to the overflow bottle.:doah:

I will check into that stuff, Its always like that if its cool or hot. It could be the hose is bad cause its accualy pretty soft. I willl probaly replace the hose and see if that does anything, if that dont work i will get a new radiator cap.

sounds like the layers of the hose have seperated internally, if you squeeze the hose when its cool and it doesn't bounce back to to its original shape almost immediately, then I would replace it

Caps are cheap..wouldnt hurt to get one if you don't know how old that one is...preventive maintenance ya know.
