I picked up three dash clusters on ebay. 2 with tachs and one with the clock.

I have to rewire the plug pins for the tach cluster in my non tach truck.

There are three wires on the tach.
Where do the wires go?
distributor - (B)?
ground - (A)?
(C) - Is that a switched power wire or what???

HAHAHA, the cluster with the tach is Canadian (It's in Kilometers)!

So send it up here, I think it's lonely.

Its actually in MPH and also has KM's listed smaller on the inside of the sweep.

I'll try to look at mine and see if I can give you any input. I'm afraid the wires might be to buried to see anything with it installed though

ttt - Anyone have the wiring diagram/schematic for the three wires off the tach? I don't want to risk burning something up.

You've got em right -- Black goes to ground, white goes to the HEI cap, and pink / black goes to an ignition controlled power source.

For future reference, orange wires are wires that are hot at all times, regardless of if the key is on or not, pink with a black stripe is hot when the ignition is on, and when the key is in the crank position, brown is hot when the ignition is on, but not when the key is in the crank position (used only by the heater fan stock, as far as I am aware). Black or black with a white strip is almost always a ground wire.

It's not a metric cluster, it's just a 100MPH speedo.

What does a cluster like that come out of? I would think a medium duty truck, but then why the 100MPH?

sorry to jump, but does anyone know where to have one of tach repaired.

Thanks

I believe anything older than '79 has a 100 mph speedo. I swapped one into my '89 so I could drive the LA freeways.

Repairs are available at Speedo shops all over the place but it can run $200+.

Yeah, that is definitely a 70's cluster.

Good score! I'd love to get a diesel tach cluster myself instead of having to mount an external one, but I think that's going to remain a dream...

Thanks. I picked up all three for around $100 shipped. Considering a tach and fuel gauge went for $156.00 on evil bay, I didn't do too bad.

Yes..... I haven't even seen a pic of one. Can you confirm that they exist?
