Dang man, you’ll be missing out on that extra 2.1 liters of fuel economy.
If smoke is coming out of the breather, then you have positive crankcase pressure, either from the pcv being bad or the other thing you mention. Check the cheaper thing first.Road trip with the camper this weekend, took my buddy Jay and his new Tremor Ranger out for a spin on Talladega NF's 600-1 road.
On the way back, tons and tons of smoke into the cab. I think my seal is shot between the trans tunnel cover and the floor.
The second part of that is that the smoke appears to be blowing out of the valve cover breather/filter thing.
I have been running one of these:
Since that seemed to be the culprit I grabbed a new one and replaced on it and put in a new grommet too.
Still smoking like hell at high rpm / high load.
I'm thinking maybe the PCV is stuck?
If not that is this likely a case of the rings being shot?
What's the best way to troubleshoot, compression test and look for a down cylinder if the PCV isn't stuck?
Yeppers. Classic hammer marksYeah, but why would a crack show up like that? And, what's the divots in the rail surface, casting flaws or something got beat on?
Why not just replace the pan?
I may, it's in the air, just trying to get the truck back to reassembly, then I can firgure the pan out. Pan cuts into the front locker fund. Why not just replace the pan?
