My truck is trail only with 44's. should I go right to a 2"x8" or is there a reason to look at 1.75".

from all the searching I have done most people seem to like the PSC ram the most. I'm trying to keep this cheap. JKWoffroad end cap, tap my own top cap, the fab work to mount it is free. I can modify my pump for nothing. I plan on getting 3 identical hoses so that I have a spare. Am I missing something. Looks like I can do this for under $300.

i would go with the 2 inch ram, i like the ram i got from surplus center with the heims on the end, i dont see the reason to shell out for a psc, if your installing the caps without pulling your box off go with the jkw cap for sure

yes I have. It's a lot more money since I would essentially be buying everything. If I buy the ram from surplus, the cap from JKW and have three hoses made down the street from me I will have $235 invested. I have been wheeling with just crossover. Hydro would be great, and I could sell my crossover to help offset the cost, but the initial investment is what messes everything up.

It would go something like this.
(me)"honey I am going to spend $1500 on steering for my truck" :D

(her)"didn't you just spend $4000 last spring?"

(me)"yeah but only part of that was steering related, some of it I will get back when I sell what I bought last spring."

(her)" blah, blah, blah something about bills, college fund for son, something shiny for her, blah, blah, blah."

(me)"I'm going to go drink a beer and try and remember what it was like to have control over the money I make."

my girl has a masters in Social work. there is no money to be made in that field. so you have to be a penny pincher. I'm in sales. so some weeks I think I'm rich and other weeks I am glad she has a steady check.

If you two made double what you make now, I bet she'd still think that way.
