Ok My friend and I are building a yota pickem up truck but we are gonna use a built 350 4 bolt main out of a trans am and full size chevy axles.

Now the thing is should we use 1/2 ton, 3/4 ton, or 1 ton chevy axles under his yota? Probly gonna run 35-37 Boggers or Baja claws. Oh yeah what bout gear ratio? It a smaller truck so I have no idea.

i'd say you'll be alright with 3/4's. 1/2 tons aren't bad but no need to replace stuff all the time. i run 1/2 tons in my blazer and a built motor and it's held up so far. just kinda waiting. 1 ton's are kinda overkill for a light truck i'd say. just my opinion. are you gonna run an automatic or a manual? if a manual i'd say no 1/2 tons for sure

well 3/4's then. i got a manual in my blazer and don't look for the 1/2 tons to last much longer. i've alreay put them through hell and haven't broken an axle or anything yet. just spider gears and a front driveshaft. keep me updated on it. i've always wanted to make a small truck with big stuff under it

Ok so its a 350 4 bolt main with around 350-360 HP and around the same in ft lbs. So we wll be running 3/4 ton axles and max tires 38.5 now should we go 4.88s or 5.13s???

not trying to get too personal here but make sure you guys dont ruin your friendship over a truck. never happend to me but ive heard and see it many times...

for gearing i guess you cant have too much.. i would go with 5.13s cause it sound like this truck may be getting towed everywhere.. if not are you going with an OD tranny?
