Installed it yesterday on my burb. it is true plug an play as i've read on here (which is why i bought it) However, the harness is not long enough to run parallel with the factory harness- which would have made for a much cleaner install. And the ground leads on both sides are just shy of being long enough to tie into the factory grounds on the core support-again, would have made for a much cleaner istall. Further, the two positive leads pulled out of the drivers side plug just routing the wires around- not pulling on anything hard what so ever.

just thought i'd share my 2 cents on this. i think i will eventually just make my own setup.

Pics please. Maybe they sent you the wrong harness...otherwise where did you mount the 2 black relay boxes?

i'm out of town and can't load any pics. its the right harness and it all works as it should. it just could have been made better.

i mounted the relays on the core support next to the radiator. that part and all the battery connections where fine.

it was the harness itself that could have been longer to alow me to rout it right along with the factory one- down below the core support. and the ground that comes off of each high beam (i have the dual headlights) is like 2" from reaching the factory ground connections on each side of the core support. so now i have two stupid separate grounds just for the headlights. i will re-do this when i have more time and tie it into the factory ones

I had to mount those black boxes on the sheet metal in front of the battery and then it reached fine. My lights are a little different tho but u wouldn't think it would make that much difference. I hooked the harness up first to all the light and then mounted the relay boxes to wherever they would reach to and that was it.

I think more importantly it sounds like the quality of material is not present in this product. If they terminals are pulling out of the connectors during installation then how can you count on them for years of trouble free connectivity?

There is no way that a company would make a product that was questionable on something as important as headlights. Can you say lawsuit? I had the same problem as far as the wires not reaching to the driver side headlamps. I had to start over 3 times.

If it is pulling out with no stress on the wires something is wrong as far as the routing. There is BARELY enough length to make it there but I DID route it under the radiator support. I also have it grounded to the sheetmetal on the radiator support close to the battery but i did have to drill a hole. I will post some pics and maybe that will help.

The headlight upgrade is still one of the best upgrades to do to these trucks. It is so bright it probably isn't legal but as others have said before...there is no law enforcement testing device to prove otherwise.

Every time you pull up behind someone it's like clockwork. Car in front of you: flip down the rearview, put your hand over the driver side mirror, and if the stoplight is long enough...the bird. Priceless!

Hopefully this helps a little. I grounded both lights in one spot. Try routing your harness as I have mine and that should give you the extra length to reach the drivers side light.

I mounted mine almost the same as this, only moved the relays back to the other side of the hole on the inner fender. Then ran the wires to the driver side under the upper radiator support. All nice and neat and tucked away. I'll get pics when it isn't snowing, if it ever stops!

here's how i did mine. i ran the harness above the rad and tied it up to the core support. still would have rather ran it below and fallowed the factory wiring... also note the nice facory grounds on both sides of the core support...the ones the new harness could not reach. lame in my opinion.

overall, the lights are much brighter than they were with out being obnoxious like some aftermarket kits are. i'm running the wagner halogens from napa.

I have the 89-91 4 headlight kit and the 80's two big headlight kit and if you look at the packaging they come in I believe they're made for something else entirely. A Toyota Land Cruiser or something. Just happens to use the same headlights we do and plugs into the harness.

I will say on The Blazer I had plenty of length but the ground loops were too small to fit over the factory screw/bolt that the factory grounds used and the headlight connectors on the kit WOULD NOT fit the factory headlights. I went with an aftermarket light set with H7's anyway so I had to cut the ends off at any rate.

Can someone draw out how the wires are supposed to be connected so I can just make it myself?

That's been done on here a few times.

I'm not good with electrical stuff so I just spent the $30. Even with having to modify The Blazer's (which I think is a 89-91 four headlight issue) I am happy for the price.

I will search, then!

I don't feel like paying them for something if I have to modify it anyway. I will just make it exactly how I want it.

If you converted over to the LMC Euro-style seperate bulb headlights then it'd be bolt on. I did that but used a different company's lights and that's why I had to cut.

However the light harness for Big Ugly will attach directly to the factory lights.
