not running right

i have an 84 with a q-jet 305
i started noticing something wrong this morning.
i am just tring to narrow it down.
while trying to get going it is like its popping
through the carb and slightly bucking. its real bad if i try
to floor it. now once i am up to speed , it seems ok.
what could be my issue ?
also , when i rev it up at idle in park, it hesitates alittle at first then clears out
just trying to figure out if its fuel related or distributor.

have you recently "fiddled" with any components such as plugs, wires, timing or carb? If not, I would first check to make sure your wires are all in good shape, then I would pull the cap and check condition.

When was last tune up? Plugs could be fouled

and I would check the timing period. I had the same kinda prollems here a while back on my non-computer 76.

i was thinking it was an electrical.
i have recently tuned up with cap rotor and plugs.
then about a week later the ignition module went bad , so i installed one of those. its been running fine till this morning and its been raining since saturday. i wanted to
get a starting point.

I forgot to mention that I put in a new air cleaner and that helped out a lot as well. Apparently I've been drivin in some seriously dusty air as it's only been about 10 months or so and it was so clogged it wouldn't even pass compressed air well. Timin and plugs and air cleaner was the quick fix for now till somethin else more catastrophic happens. /forums/images/graemlins/doah.gif

well i took the cap off, all looks good.
i went ahead and replaced the capacitor and the coil.
i already had the parts , just decided to change now.
it still did the same thing a couple times then seem to clear out. i wonder if i just got ahold of some bad gas.
it seem to start doing it little by little. who knows ,
but i will fill it up tonite elsewhere and see how it goes.
