think you could lope the 2dr tahoe top off w/ enforcement improvements like when 1/2 cab goes full vert?

For what that would cost to do, you could get a REAL convertible K5....... ('69 - '75)

It would have better resale value too. A creation like you're describing would be worthless afterwards (except maybe to you).

If you're going to swim, you might as well go off the diving board!!! :waytogo:

:usaflag:

Agreed with Greg72. The guy that I bought my '73 and '85 from bought a '97 to make a full conv. I finally talked him out of it. Now he wants to buy my '73 back.:haha: Not going to happen. In truth, I dont know what is up with this guy. So he buys a cherry '86 Blazer, cuts the top off, pours money into it, now this http://tulsa.craigslist.org/car/765255253.html I tried to talk to him, but he would not listen. BTW It is saber saw hacked off. I have no idea why he hasnt soldit in a month:surepal:

did he do any additional reinforcement, if not is body warping?

i have a 69 k5, and i just bought another 69 k5 that some1 along the way, installed a permanent 1/2 cab on, i posted it here, surely ya'll seen it, i have a 74 k5, an 80 k5, 96 4 dr tahoe, 06 pathfinder,..so this 2dr topless tahoe is an idea for a toy for me, not concerned about resale, prolly do a 4 pt bar/cage(mainly to put softtop on)..it wont be wheeled except thru campgrounds and swimming area and then have a boat shop make me a safari top for showers, i'm curious as to strength of tub, the frames are boxed already iirc, been awhile since i was under a tahoe

Just found these on my HD ... look like they're from an Ebay listing, but I didn't keep any further details.

I'm not usually a big fan of the newer body styles, but that is pretty awesome.

It looks pretty good actually. I just never liked how stubbed they look in rear quarter behind the rear wheel well. Its got great departure angle but the body just looks stubby. This one looks good though. I think this body style looks better lowered myself.

I actually like that as well. It looks like whoever did it, did a pretty good job. SAS that thing, add some 39s and it'd be sweet:D:pimp::saweet:

Yeah, see, by the time you SAS one of the NBS rigs ... you could just as easily start with a 73-75 rig, which is cheaper to insure and register, and is likely to be smog-exempt for those places that have such inspections. Sure, you'd have to drop some $$ on redoing the interior of an old truck ... but :dunno:

I see that chopped NBS as a great street truck: stock height and tire size, (relatively) decent mileage for a grocery getter and general gun truck.

OTOH, I'm long been a proponent of having a truck for every purpose; I had four widely different full-sizes 73-87's at the peak. :haha:

But it would just be cool to run that thing and be different. I'm just sayin if I had oodles of greenbacks to waste, I think it'd be pretty sweet:D
