I have a '95 Sonoma. When I use the turn signals, I get the rapid-flash which indicates a burned out bulb. Now, up until a week ago, my drivers rear was burned out, but now it's replaced - so all 6 turn signal indicators (two front each, one rear each) are operating. Mind you, even when I had a left side burned out, BOTH left and right turns would rapid flash. That didn't make sense (only the side burned out should rapid flash). So, now that all bulbs are good, I still have a rapid flash, both left and right, and that doesn't make sense even more!!

WTF?

Where should I look, and what should I do, to attain 'normal' operation of these things???

Does it use those printed circuit board tail light setups? I know those seem to have a fair number of problems based on the circuit board.

I believe flashing from other lights that aren't supposed to be used indicates a poor ground somewhere, in your area I wouldn't be surprised if you've got some corrosion on some connectors or on the PCB itself between "tracks".

have you replaced the relay?

That's a negative. Where is it? How difficult is it to replace?

Someone on another 'board has suggested the grounds that lead back to both, so that's on the To Do list.

Thinking some more I don't think there is relay just the flasher

Its down by the fuse block. turn your blinker on and you should be able to hear it clicking

Should look like this
yb.dll

I don't get any sound with the turn signal, so....that could also be a problem.

What do you mean, no relay, just the flasher? Sorry, but this is foreign to me.

Do the hazards operate normally?

If so take the hazard flasher and swap for the signal flasher. They are both in the dash convenience center basically in the center over the trans hump.

They do.

And, I will go outside in a minute and see if I can ID these flashers. (Gotta poop....priorities.)

x2. there will be 2 flashers by the fuse block, one for the blinkers one for the flashers. Swap them and see if anything changes.

Okay, now they have stopped working altogether.... I still have hazards that operate normally (whenever I can finagle the release button to come up), but absolutely nothing when I 'use' the turn signal switch.

Do all hands still point to a bad flasher?

About the hazard switch:

A replacement assembly is available from a GM dealership for ~$15.

GM Hazard switch repair Kit part # 15174447

My S-10 Blazer had turn signal issues caused by a broken hazard switch.

I'll jump on this bandwagon... glad to know I'm not alone. My k3500 does similar stuff with the flashers...
My left flasher is normal but my right flasher is really fast... I checked the bulbs and they're all working but the right side flashes at least twice as fast...

Let us know what you figure out...
