I am installing an new Edelbrock Air Gap manifold along with my new Edelbrok offroad carb this evening after work. I am pretty pumped to have the time to do this. These are going on a newly rebuilt pretty much stock 350. Any chance I will notice a difference. I am going ot put a new radiator and efan the week after that. I thinking I will add about 25hp with all. Will I notice this kind of hp gain on a 5000# vehicle?

If your replacing a stock intake and stock q-jet, then yes, you will certainly feel the change! Seems to me that the e-fans are not really worth any real hp gains until you start spining above 5500rpm.

Well I installed the manifold and carburetor last night and man does there feel to be a big difference. There is much much better throttle response just tap the gas and it goes. This is also partially due to the fact that the guy I bought it from must have damn near hand tightened the manifold bolts because the back of the manifold was barely bolted down. This was one of the main reasons I replaced it because it resulted in a pretty good oil leak from the back of the manifold. Problem now solved. To any noobs out there like myself I highly suggest getting rid of the stock manifold.

If your intake manifold was that loose you were probably fighting a huge vacuum leak. I know when I fixed my leaking intake manifold it felt like a new truck... Glad to hear it worked for you. Electric fan is on my wish list, I've had them on my camaro and my mustang, every little bit helps...

Intake bolts aren't torqued very tight (because it's easy to warp intake manifolds), that may be what you're dealing with. If they really were loose that definitely would cause issues.

Also, electric fans won't make more horsepower. At least, not much. Clutch fans have pretty minimal drag if the radiator isn't hot enough to make them engage, plus with electric fans you may have overheating problems. If the fan is needed, they will both draw the hp needed to pull air through the radiator.
