All the older chevys had their motors yanked , while all the fords did not.

Also noticed a bunch more Suburbans and older chevy P/ups (80s models) , as usual not a single K5.

There was a 65 Valiant with broken motor mount aka Slant 6, it looked like someone was pretty far into a restro project with it as the body work was done, it was in primer but the interior was completely gone, the motor and trans were intact and looked like it might fire up.

Not much older stuff where I go, so its cool to see an oldie here and there.

our local pickapart has a couple c10s... no 4x4's at all. dunno about the engines... i know every single cummins is gone as soon as its the yard.

All three of my local junkyards have a lot of these old GM trucks, all of them have atleast two K5's, and only one of the lot is a gasser, all the others are 6.2's

Tons of suburbans, and even more pickups.
the big junkyard has 4 Duallys, with decent beds
something like 10 pickups, all 4x4.
3 Blazers, all 6.2's
and I think like 6 burbs

I went thru the only salvage yard around here that keeps ANY older vehicles awhile instead of crushing them right away...only 3 old square body chevy pickups, two were C-30 wrecker bodies ,there was one '87
k-10 Suburban with NO engine or tranny & transfer case, only the rear axle was still in it,and the springs..had rear A/C and heat!..no useable doors or body parts, not much left of it..the lone 4x4 pickup around '83 Vintage was beat to death and plastered with mud 3" thick,so much I couldn't identify the tranny ot t-case and it wasn't a dana 60 front end either..

I doubt there are many others in any other yards around here,if there is its because they are buried too far behind other vehicles to bother digging them out and crush them, and they'll be picked cleaner than a buzzards dinner plate...guess I need to move if I want to buy old chevy parts ..
I hear in VT and NH some old yards still have quite a few older GM trucks, some even restoreable...they are scarce here ..
