this is on my 1988 suburban. the brown 'L' wire has no power when the key is on. the truck is equipped with the volt gauge cluster [no dummy light]. i already did a bunch of extra work by pulling the cluster for no reason looking for a brown wire.

i traced the wire back from the alternator and i see it goes into the junction box the fuse box plugs into. no idea where is goes once under the dash.

should i just take power from any ignition switched power source @ the fuse block, put a bulb in the circuit and run it to the L lead on the alternator?

does anyone have the schematic for charging system???

what i am trying to get back on the road:
