Recently i spooled my front end and put a selectable locker in my rear end and i've had a Jamar cutting brake laying around, so it's going in the truck.

I'm runnimg hard line from the mc, into the cab, and out under the center of the floor and ending above the rear axle., i need a good source for a 3/16 rubber line about 24" long that would be easy to mount hardline to on both ends.

Anyone got a good source for something like that?

G&J aircraft lines, custom made to your specs and great price too!

they are a steal for what they are!
And strong too.... I had my rear axle suspension flexed out, and it was hanging by the brake line...ended up remounting the attachment point for the brake line. Never an issue with it though.

I used an "Earls" stainless braided rear brake hose on my 82 K2500,a friend had one kicking around he gave me,it was listed for a 68-72 Nova,Chevelle, etc, but it looked and fit identical to the original one on the truck....wont have to worry about that popping like the dry rotten original one was about too...

Got them ordered up. $48 and some change for two 24" braided lines with mountable ends and a few fitting i needed. I'll take that any day.

On another note. I've never found an install online from start to finish on a cutting brake so I'll start one here.

So first things first. Comfortable placement of the cutting brake.
Done and Done.

And maturally my buddy Zack has to do his thing and stencil a Browning logo on everything done in his shop. Lol

Damn that sounds like it'd be kinda fun in the sand.. Dammit cherry :doah::haha:

Well i'm doing the install mainly to pull myself in the right direction in an off camber situation, getting my front end where i want it coming up over a ledge, steering during a descent, that sort of thing. And also to help out my welded front end. A selectable locker is in the very near future, as i had to pull my welded rear end out to make use of the cutting brakes. but from what i've read, more people desire a locked front if having to choose between front and rear. So i'll see how it performs.

And you should take a look at the sand rails and VW guys, most of them run cutting brakes. For you a single lever CNC would probably be the best. Especially if you want to keep your center console. Haha.

Yah ive worked on some rails with them, and ridden in a few. I need more hp before Ican carve a dune :D

Progress!

Rule #1 place brake lines near rotating parts. i.e. Driveshaft.
Doubt it will stay this way, i have plenty of hose to run further back. But it looks snazzy. Just trying to get an idea of where things will end up.

The upper mount however WILL stay, i like it, its simple, it works.
This one is welded to the crossmember right where the rear part of the floor goes up.

No pics of the hard lines, it looks like a kindergarten kids arts and crafts. Not my strong point. So i'll keep my artwork to myself. Lol. It is, however, mounted securely and (mostly) out of harms way. I may have to get more creative and run it down the frame rail instead of the trans tunnel. :dunno:
