What would cause this? Linkage looks fine. The problem is there is not much distance in the shift from 2H to pulling shifter back to 4H…it’s only a real small distance between the two. I have to hold the shifter back to keep in 4H. 4L – throws all the way forward and locks in fine like it should..

lube the piss out of the shift rails outside the case. seen lots of junk build up on them and make stiff movement.
also grease the piviot bolt for shifter.
and torn a few cases apart and found detent ball spring broken and this make the shift rail pop out a lot easyer from its position.
but my plow truck i got rid of that stuff and went ord twin stick kit and love it. 10x better to shift over the old gm style crap.
