i have a 205 mated to a th350 when i shift the trans into park or neutral i can;t shift my 205 with out major grinding i have to shut the truck off to switch the ranges what gives
the key ive found with the 205 is to not be jentle with it. Say i was going from 4lo to 2hi i would stop(or come close to it) put it in neutral and yank back on the lever not just pull it but jerk it back(all the way) then giv it the little click forward in to 2hi. I loved my 205 /forums/images/graemlins/frown.gif
to shift mine...I have to be rolling then shift into Nuetral (while still rolling slowly) then it USSUALLY shifts smooth...and if all else fails, I just yank the hell outta it!!
yep even in park /forums/images/graemlins/confused.gif it all started after i tightened the bolt that holds the shifter together /forums/images/graemlins/tongue.gif
if your park pawls are engaged and the truck is motionless then all gears should be stopped
I am no help in automatic equiped shifting but in a manual it is easier to shift it while moving
