Ok, so I have a habit of breaking these things and now I am putting a 203/205 in my truck.. but I borrowed a 208 from my cousins k5 (it hasnt been driven in years) and broke it in half. I need one to put back in his truck. Tell me what you got and what you want for it.

I have a complete 208 minus the input gear. It just needs to be re-assembled. Cover shipping and it's yours. zip 98110.

I will talk to the guy who was driving my rig when it broke ( yeah it wasnt me) and find out if he is ready to do something. Im going to split the cost with him. post up zip codes so I can figure out shipping.

at this point it is the weak link in my setup... Full chromo one tons with drive flanges and 42s on h1s... I think the last one was just torque. The first one was from the front driveshaft being too long, the second from breaking a centerpin on the passanger side front spring and pushing the axle back over a foot.

Gabe, I have one in my K5 that you can have for free. It probably needs a rebuild though. Do you think any of the internals from the broken one will work? Sounds like a bearing is going out in mine. I drove it from Knoxville, TN to Acworth that way. There's noise, but it seemed to be working ok.

You can have it for FREE if you'll help me pull it and swap in my other one. (I bought a used/rebuilt one to get it running faster.) I was going to rebuild it once I did the swap and keep it as a spare or sell it.

It's the stock case in my '86 K5, which is backing a 700R4.

I would be glad to help you swap it out... we would just have to figure out a time on a weekend that would work.

Well this coming weekend I'll be pretty busy, but the next one should be clear all day on Sat and Sun.

Hopefully I can have my rear axle rebuilt and reinstalled by then. This would serve as good motivation. :haha: Maybe I'll meet my goal of having it back on the road by the end of the month.

I think that would work for me... I am hosting a meeting for my club in my backyard on the 23rd if you feel like hanging out... we will have bbq drinks, fire and horeshoes...

ps. At this point I can swap one in less than 30 min on a lift... so no worries

Damn... wish I could make the party. That's my g/f's birthday, and she already has the whole day planned out, LOL.

My K5 is in the garage, rear axle is removed, and the rear is held up by STOUT jack stands. Getting underneath is no problem, so would we need a lift to make it happen?

No lift required, as long as I can fit under it were good. I swapped one out at dixie run in an hour and a half. That included my full skidpan and clocking ring. Oh and that was by myself on my back.

Ill pm you my number
