np 208 stuck in low range

Just did 14ff swap and went to test it in 4wd and the truck would not go back into 2w or 4hi made a grinding noise as if something would not engage fully. Drove home in low, added fluid to the t-case and sm465 and adjusted the t-case linkage. I cant tell if the linkage is messed up or is this an internal problem. any help from the 465 crowd would be great, i am at a loss this far.

did you lock in the front hubs also? might have some driveline windup. back it up a couple of feet while turning the wheel back and forth, and using your foot on the transfer lever. my truck was hard to get out of lowrange when i first got it going, but the transfer case was brand new so I figured it just had some burrs to work out.
