Np 208

Hey People help me out here please. I'm trying to find out what kind of oil and capacity to use in a NP 208 transfer case. I've been told to use Mercon or Dextron but it seems to me that it should be something a little thicker or something. Also how much of whatever oil do I use? Theres a fill hole way up high and a drain plug down low. If it helps it's on an '86 K5, SB 350, and a 700 R4. Thanks

use ATF and i think its 4 quarts. just fill it till it starts to come out of the fill plug.

yep, Dexcron ATF(just cause thats what GM uses, doesn't really matter) and about 4 quarts I think.
