NP 241 crossmember

I have an 83, that had the 208 stock. I bought a 241 from a friend and did the sye kit on it. When I went to install it, I noticed I couldn't use the 241's adapter to the tranny, as it was much shorter than the 208's. So I took my adapter back off my 208 and every thing was happy. So, here's my question. I have a rotation ring coming in, can I just get a 241 crossmember, and get a completely flat belly? Will it fit in the frame rails same as the 208? I suppose I could fab one, but if the stock 241 fits, it has to shallower than the 208's crossmember eh?

yes yes and yes? It won't be flat, no factory adaptor/crossmember on our rigs was flat but it will be closer. I am going to fab a much flatter crossmember, I am using my NP208 adapter with a 241 rotated all the way up.
