So it seems i have been driving my truck around with no fluid in the T-case, for i'm not shure how long, but I am pretty shure it had no fluid in it at blazer fest.
but it isent making any nose(just a slight clicking sound where the t-case mates with the tranny) and nothing smelled burnt in side.
I would figure i messed it up pretty bad, but everything still seems to be working good.
i just did a fluid/filter change on my truck so i figured i'd check it, it took 2 quarts of fluid to fill it back up. :eek1: not shure how this happened, ther was no puddle under it after it had set for 2 months, and after i filled it it dosent leak(well just a little bit 4 drips under the truck)
so tell me the bad news

you put water in it first and it evaporated :D

I have no idea, there isnt any place it could go if it isnt leaking.

when i bought my truck aug 03, the tranny went out in october. when i drained the tcase when swapping it, i got nothing. when i filled it back up, it leaked out the front output seal BAD, like a quart a week, sitting or not. the PO never mentioned anything about it. even when i told him he had no clue, it was his plow truck. my guess is the tcase has been dry for a while. well once i put the seal in it was fine, the chain has a little slop in it but not much. i would run that tcase now if it had the 32 spline input i need on my sm465.

unless you see alot of metal inside when you pull the drain plug, i would run it.

I say, fill 'er back up and run it. If it gives you problems, address them then.. if not, keep on keepin' on. :wink1:

What's the capacity of a 241? I think it's more than 2 quarts, so maybe it wasn't totally empty.

my NP 208 was about 1.5 Q low ..i found out why when i parked uphill  the cap in the rear yoke was to blame..fixed it with some good glue :wink1:
