NP 241 Slip Yoke parts or SYE kit

I need the slip yoke parts from a NP241.
I presently have an '89 pass drop version with mech speedo.

If someone installed a slip yoke eliminator kit, I would be interested in buying your old parts.

I would even be interested in the VSS style ('90 - '91) slip yoke parts as my rig is only a trail rig anymore.

I am not sure if a difference would exist for the slip yoke parts between the driver's and pass drop versions.
Anyone know?

I can't think of any reason why one would not work. It's just a shorter shaft. In fact, in ordering an SYE, it states that the later 241's can use either kit (short, or super short) .. it's just that the mech speedo's can't use th esuper short kit.

Did you miss out on afroman's SYE for sale? It was in the t-case section... (i'm assuming that's the one you talking about missing out on.. but just wanted to be sure.)
 
what would one be worth to you? I have both a pass and a drivers drop in the garage and if I ever go to use them Ill be doing a SYE. Let me know.

actually the super short kit is only for drivers side drop cases. i thought the same as you for a while, and was sevearly dissapointed when i found out i cant use it on my passenger drop 91. i emailed JB conversions, and asked if they might make a super short kit for VSS passenger drop in the future, and he said there isnt enough demand to justify making it. :mad:

Yeah, that's what I was saying actually. The drivers side drop can use either kit, but pass only uses the short (not super short) kit. I just got a short kit through NW fab about a month ago.

depending on your need, bigdaddy, I would contact Jb conv, and ask what will work and what won't, before you try and part swaps. If I had my SYE installed I would let ya have my old parts for little to nothing... but it will be a while. :doah: I'm still in the "collection mode" before I tear everything apart on the K5, and do the build.

All I really need is the rear housing so even an IFS version should work.

I am still in the market for a used SYE kit as well.

I also need the driveshaft slip yoke.
A 208 or 241 version should work.

I think I may have the 241 slip yoke end. I will have to check when I am home this weekend though....

I don't think the 208 tailpiece will work. The 241 is two seperate pieces and the 208 is a single piece (on my 86 anyway)....
 
i have a rear extension housing for the 241. it has a small piece of aluminum missing at the rear seal area but should work just fine. free if you wanna pay for the shipping from CA. better let me know soon, it's going to the scrap on saturday.....

The slip yoke housing from the 241 or the driveshaft slipyoke?

I am referring to the part you need. The tailshaft section that holds the slip yoke seal. I don't need it since I just completed my SYE.

If it doesn't work out with orangefj45, let me know. :D
