np 241 speed sensor wiring?

Ok, the sensor has 2 wires going to it. And from what I gather, its basically an electromagnet thing. Well I had to extend my wires about 6in or so. Does it matter which wires go where? Or does it perform the same function either way? And I know I know, shouldn't have mixed em up, but it happens and the manual doesn't get that specific.

IIRC the wires are different colors so not sure how you could've mixed them up. Also IIRC it doesn't matter which wire goes where anyhow.
