i had a a 241 in my 89 k5 blazer 4 inch lift i snapped the tailshaft off the transfer case on the high way yesterday. i already picked up a 208 cause its all i can afford i was just wondering which one has lower gears the 208 is 261 ratio and the 241 is a 272 which one is better?
thanks for the help

The 241 has a slightly lower gear ratio and is a newer, better design. It's basically a product improved 208.

Still, the 208 should work fine for you.

208 and 700R4 is a very good combo....nice low gears, both of them together makes for a capable crawl ratio.. that's what i had in my '85, my '90 has the 241 and it feels very low with the 31's on it now.

Are they interchangable?? for example mounted to a th350

Where ever a 208 is bolted a 241 will bolt, as long as they are both the same spline count 27 spline for 700R4 or th350 and 32 spline for th400 or 4l80e
