What do I need to convert a 1990 NP 241 transfer case from a K-5 Blazer, to mechanical speedometer?

use a 1989 np241 case parts or put a vss speedometer in the truck.
is it straight forward, buy the pieces and stick them in? Is it just the speedo gear or what? I have autometer gauges with cable.
