Anyone know where I can get a sleeve for the front input shaft on NP 241C? I've replaced the seal but I still loose fluid from tranny to transfer case, so I'll try a sleeve and new seal next.

Every time I've needed a sleeve, I just took the part down to a bearing store and have them measure the shaft and look up the sleeve.

I know, that wasn't much help. But it's what I used to do before I discovered Al Gore's greatest invention.

I'll bust out the dial calipers and measure it. Then I'll go find a "bearing" shop in Atlanta:D Thanks for that info.

I have only had to use one sleeve, and right now I'm darned if I can remember what it was for. If I remember right, it was called a Speedy Sleeve. Very thin stainless steel, with a lip that you drove it on with. Then you cut and peeled the lip off along a pre-scored groove.
I got it from a place called Motion Industries. I think they are national, but they have a local store.
Yep, I was right. Here is their website. http://www.motionindustries.com
They are kinda high for some things, but usually have the good stuff.

I'm not sure how I determined what size to buy, but I do not remember mic-ing it. Somehow we were able to look it up. Maybe by the bearing size that went on just in front of the seal.
Hope that fixes it.

Hmm, I just had a thought. Putting the sleeve on would probably screw you if you have to disassemble the transfer case in the future. The input shaft is the same diameter up to the gear and there is bearing that goes on before the seal.
