Well my 203's chain has broke so I need to replace the chain. Or I can try to switch to 205.

My question for you guys it, what should I do??

If I switch to 205 will it bolt right up?

Can the 203 handle the same load as a 205?
 
if th350 tranny yes bolt up with all 205 parts .

if th400 then diffrent tail shaft ( longer )

and 205 is basicly stronger as no chain to strech/break.

and you will need diffrent shifter with 205 . best mod now is twin stick and modify the shift rail for full twin stick . i like ord shifters .

also driveshaft lengths diffrent .

cross member might need moved and possible drill new holes to bolt to frame.

but like said if you ever wanted more gear off road or just toss money at it doubler kit . again ord i like my self . and check the tech section for my full pic by pic write up on how to reman both and install the kit .

I agree with this if you can afford it. I think the ORD Doubler kit makes the 203/205 combo the exact same length as the original 203 so you can most likely re-use your driveshafts and you don't have to change anything on the tranny or crossmembers since it still mounts to the front of the 203.

I swapped my 203 out for a 205 and I really regret not just doing a doubler.

I do have an extra 203 chain in good shape so if you just wanna replace that shoot me a PM and we could work something out.

K, I am going to look at it and make sure its only the chain.

With the doubler dont you need a 205 and 203 plus the doubler?

Yep. I had gotten a great dealon the 205 for like 100 bucks so I should have just bit the bullet and bought the doubler kit too.

If you are gonna buy the doubler kit, you need a 205 with the 32 spline input I think. ORD has a ton of info on their website. Since you only use the front portion of your 203 it wouldn't matter what was broken so long as it was behind that.
 
I did the np203 to np205 swap. Took the NP 203 out from the 78 K5 and bolted right up a NP 205 from a 72 K5. Had to get the drive shafts changed. I had to use the np205-th350 adapter and support strut from the 72 K5.
