I've got my NP203 rebuild kit and 32 spline input shaft for the 6L80. What I can't figure out is how the old 27 spline input shaft comes out.
Does it just slide out from the larger gear on the inside of the case? Maybe I need a little more force? I don't see a snap ring or anything on the shaft?

check adapter to 4 socket head bolts for that aluminum seal holder i=on the input gear . if they hit swap them for button head bolts . i had that problem on a 4L80-e - 241 adapter setup i did .

and drill / tap a 1/8" pipe thread in the bottom of the range box for service later . give you a nice drain plug port . wish i had on the 1st one .

if doing a doubler i find the stock range lever detente spring week for my flavor . i used a 5/16" nut with the hex points rounded off on top of the spring but just under the bolt / cap that holds it all in the case . made it shift like my twin sticked 205 did each lever for all 3 the same feel .

The drain plug is a great idea. I made a huge mess this morning pulling this thing apart. I will definitely be adding one thanks.

No this truck is just a restoration with L83 motor and 6L80. I'll keep the 3"-4" lift and run 31 or 32" tires. Obviously I'm keeping the NP203. I kinda like the full time 4WD.

I don't really have anywhere to off-road near me without getting ticketed or charged for the environmental damage to the weeds and poison ivy.
