np203 noise in 4wd

I am having a noise like loud chaing noise I think is is the chain anyway I only have the noise if I have hubs locked if I just have the case in 4 Hi and yes it does have Part Time kit in it ujoints are new. If I disengage the hubs noise is gone this truck has new motor new transmission runs fine in 2wd and fine with transfer case is in 4hi only if hubs are locked and in transfer case is engaged I have noise also I have tried new lockers but to no avail anybody think it is not the transfer case and if you agree how hard is it to replace chain.

when mine went bad, the way to tell was to go in the dirt, put it in 4wd, lo or high, i don't think it matters, and power brake it, if you hear a loud grinding, the chain is stretched, and the t-case needs to come apart. don't powerbrake it too long, just a quickie will tell you
