I was getting ready to install my mile marker part-time kit into the 203 when I discovered I had two different kits.

One is a mile marker 501 conversion kit and the other is a rancho freedom rider 203 kit.

I searched The forum's but did not find any information on the rancho, also Google but with no luck. The mile marker kit I picked up last year along with a set of warn premium hubs, don't remember where I got the rancho kit.

So... what would you do install the mile marker or the rancho?

Do they both have the same parts that you need
Look at the quality of the parts
I've used mil marker conversion on a quadratrac transfer case an never had any issues with it

Both look like they would do the job but holding each set of gears in my hand the mile marker is extremely heavier than the rancho.

I've been searching online for a little bit and don't see to many complaints on the Milemarker version. Did find an illustration of what looks like the rancho in fig 5.

Think the mile marker will be a better version to use and hang onto the other.

I've got a '78 with the 203 conversion in it. Don't know how old it is but it's been in since it was made by Nash. Mile Marker bought Nash out. So I would say they hold up pretty good.

I had the nash in my chalet, drove it 12 years not a single problem

I would use the Mile Marker kit because if you have problems with it later at least you know you can get replacement Mile Marker parts again. Rancho not so since they're obsolete.

I'd be interested in buying that Rancho gear. Just the gear alone. For a desk paper weight.
