well something is wrong with the 203 in my 78'. When you shift through the gears it will bind up in nutrual and stick there. I tried soaking the shifter in PB blaster and checked the fluid, the only thing i didnt try was to adjust the linkage. any suggestions?

Mine does the same thing

I tried cleaning it off with it on the truck but that never works you gotta really soak it down

then it just fine after that

if you havent already

Mine sticks too.1st time it happend I had to drive 2 miles home in 4Low.

i just wish i could get it to stick in a accualy gear instead of nutrual.

I wonder If the ORD twin stick got the 203 would help any?

Betcha it would.

So would readjusting the linkage, which you'd have to do with the new one, only it costs money. Adjusting this one would be free, and you're the one who's too cheap to cough up for a membership. :deal:

Unless the 203 twin-stick kit is easily/cheaply converted to work on a '205, spending money on a '203 is throwing bad money after good, as they say, or possibly trying to polish a turd. By the time you put a kit on it, fiddle with it, replace the chain, whatever ... you can either buy another used one and throw it in (admittedly WORK 'cuz they're heavy, but they're cheap) ... or you can take that $$ and spend it on a '205 and be done with it. But we've had this conversation before.
