Well I have been having difficulties with the side mount on my 203 case on my 74 blazer. I have tracked down the parts I thought were missing. Now I get under there, and cant seem to figure out how they bolt up. I had a similar mount on the 205 on my 71 and this mount is the same. But there are only two bolt holes on the frame that seem to corospond with the bolt holes on the case. They are on the bottom of the frame. The upper bracket I believed went inside the frame, but there is a bracket for the E-brake cable in the way. This was where the upper bracket is on my 71. I included pics of the areas in question. Any help would be great and maybe some pics. As far as I have found, only 69-75 had this same bracket. They must have changed it in 76 on.

After looking at it the bracket with the ebrake looks right. It has two holes. But the lower bracket is too short to reach the holes on the case. Is it wrong?

the 203 didn't use that type of mount, just the 205, IIRC. The 203 had a torque rod that went on the 2 holes and up to a trans mount bolt.

Try this pic , then turn it 90 degrees in your mind so small bracket is under our framerail :D

I have seen that in my catalog. The lower bracket on mine though seems to short to reach down to the holes on the case. I dont know if maybe the case is just dropped down or it might be the wrong bracket. I bought it off a guy who said it was for a 203 but it looks just like the one on my 205 in my 71, Not sure if they are different.

here you go buddy, it seems like it gets sandwiched between the 2 plates

hope these helped, if you need i can take more tomorrow

i see the small bracket is already on there, so all you need to do is bolt up the big one and put the rubber things in between the small mount and the big one,

Yeah that helps out alot. The bolts go all the way through the frame. Ill have to get under there and see If I can get it bolted up. Ill let you know how it goes.

I tried to get it on but the transfer case is about a 1/2 inch to an inch to low. I think maybe it has sagged from being like this for a while. I was going to try and jack it up to get clearence but ran out of time. Im going to pull the skid plate so I can get my jack under it and see if I can get it to move up. I could almost get the bolts in its real close. I hate dealing with something that doesn't just WORK. But I have always dealt with things like this. This is really the first on this truck. I just rewired it and that was pretty much problem free.

New mounts will help , my 83 still has the two seperate trans mounts , and they sagged when they were old too , looked like puffy black marshmallows .

I installed new front mounts about three weeks ago and thats when I discovered this mount missing. I do remember having to put this mount on first when I had my 205 rebuilt on my 71. I should be able jack it up a little and get it on. Its real close right now and I am installing new mounts on it also. Maybe when I get it all bolted in it should fall into place. I am a little worried about it hitting the floor board. Looks close all ready.

Ok all done with new mounts. Took a little more unbolting of the t case mounts but it went in. Im glade to get this on. Also noticed while doing this the rear crossmember had worked a little loose and one nut was completely missing. This isn't the first bolt I've found loose. I also found one on the tranny bellhousing when I was doing the wiring. Whoever took this apart before must have been weak handed.
