NP203 question?

I have searched, but have not come up with an answer.
I have an NP203 in my 76 K20 that has a hole in the rear tailshaft housing..Im assuming the part time kit came apart in it....any how, I have another 203 in the bed of my truck that a friend GAVE to me last night, he said it already has the part time kit in it...HOW DO I TELL?

If you have it in the 2x4 high or low gear selection and spin the input the front output should not spin.
Gear selector should be like this with the part time kit installed
4x4 Low
2x4 low
Neutral
2x4 High (Normal Street use)
4x4 High

and is swapping whole case save the old if its off a th400 combo .

the 32 spline input gear worth a few bucks .
