I have a 1974 Blazer with a 400ci small block, turbo 350, and the dreaded New Process NP203 tranfer case. When I purchased the truck, the trans bell housing was broken off the tranny. So I purchased a good used turbo 350 trans and installed it for now. ( eventually I want to put a 700R4 in it. ) The problem I am having is that the transfer case only egages in one position of the shifter lever. The other problem is that transfer case comes out of ger every time I hit a bump or if I stomp on the accelerator. this is quite a pain in the ass. I have to pull over & shift the tranny to neutral. Then I have to shift the transfer case into gear. Is there some kind of a adjustment that I have to make on the linkage for the t-case? I noticed that the linkage can be adjusted. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

That makes sence. So is the fact that it is a full time 4wd transfer case, the reason why it only engages in one position?

This might help.

1. Align gage holes in levers A & B with gage hole in shifter arm and insert gage pin (any metal pin or even a cut-off nail that fits the hole snug will work). This positions levers A & B in Nuetral.

2. Position Arms F & G in a straight down 6 O' Clock (neutral) position.

3. With Swivel-E and Lock Nuts-D loosely assembled to Rod-C, rotate Swivel-E until the ends of Rod-C will simultaneously enter Lever-B and Arm-F.

4. Lock in place with Retainer-K.

5. Tighten Locknut-D against Swivel-E to the specified torque, being careful not to change position of Arm-F.

6. Repeat steps 3, 4, and 5 for Rod-H to Lever-A & Arm-G.
