My rear driveshaft self destructed the other day and it chewed up the rear yoke on the transfer case. I can not figure out what socket i need to remove the nut that holds the yoke on???I drove all over town looking for it and even went to the dealership to see if theyd do it real quick for me but no luck. I know its big, bigger than 1-1/4 i think and it has to be a THIN wall socket.

Only one thing, I bought a 1 5/16" Craftsman socket, but it's OD was too big to fit into the yoke. I then went out and found and S&K import one with thinner walls, hoping it wold fit, still no go, I had to put in in the lathe and turn down the OD a bit to make it work. So, my point is, try and find one with the thinnest walls you can find, or get out the grinder.

I found a pretty thin one and I measure the diameter of the yoke and i think it will fit, if not Ill whip out my little buddy:D
