i have seen people run a 205/205 doubler. what are the advantages and disadvantages to such a beast?

opinons welcome:D

I've never seen a 205/205 doubler. You can't seperate the range box from the rest of the case on a 205, so the front case's front output would block the front output of the second case...

or a ford 205 into a chevy 205. The whole idea seems retarded to me. Why? it will be long and heavy

It can be done, but why? Lots of weight, weird size, lots of uncommon adapters. Seems like using a 203's range box or one of the other planetary boxes out there would make a lot more sense.

I guess he's never heard of using a 203 and a doubler kit...because what he has now is exactly what a doubler has and does, but with twice the weight and length. That and he is using a bunch of 10 and 30 spline crap that is gonna break. :doah:

Send him a link to ORD's or NWF's doubler pages....

These here are probably the best options available. I do know that someone on this site did a doubler with a NP231 or 241 planatery but again it is lots of cutting and uncommon adapters. 205 coupled with another 205 that is cut in half has zero advantage. Too much weight, underdrive ratio isn't very good (3.92:1), and adapters that must be custom made.
