what is the measurement from the back side edge to the center of the frame holes. If it will work for me I will probably take it. I put an 86 400 205 combo in a 75 k5, just want to make sure it will line up on the frame right.

Do you mean the distance from the inside of the frame to the face of the bushings that bolt onto the case?

well from the point it bolts to the case, to the center of the frame holes. so if it is bolted to the case, I want to make sure the frame holes will fit on the frame. I know I will have to drill holes, just want to make sure they are not on the edge of the frame. Make sense? hell I dont even know if it will be too tall so that measurement would be great too if its not to much trouble.

I think I get it now. The dimension I think you want is about 3.5". I can try posting a picture with a tape measure up against it.
