I am looking to simplify the parking brake situation on my build. I have the parking brake ready rear calipers for the rear disc brake modification but I rather not have to deal with running the lines.

Has anyone used this style parking brake setup. I'm ditching the push pedal and installing a pull handle. I have the Lokar handle.

??? Will it pass DMV inspection? Some states want e,-brakes on both rear wheels. . . .

This would seem to qualify for that. The brake effectively keeps BOTH wheels from moving. The rear tires cant roll without the driveshaft moving. Is that sound logic??

Now Im worried....I'll check with PA laws

The Cadillac brakes are self adjusted off the ebrake being used each time you drive the vehicle. They will not act like a front caliper.

Connecticut DMV inhouse inspections are bitchy.... They want everything working as it left the factory,...

There were parking breaks on both wheels when it left the factory.

Your driveshaft only locks one wheel , as one spins loose while turning through corners.

Yes, a solid locked rear differential, would technically have e- brakes on both wheels.

Mostly irrelevant in the real world..... But DMV isn't the friendliest waters to navigate.

I would go with driveline E brake, and use front single piston calipers in the rear for those big 40" tires your gonna run :D

I have a kit somewhere that I never installed. Think it was made by High Angle Driveline. I'd be willing to sell it. I just need to find it in my basement.

You guys have inspections?? :D
lots of states with no annual inspection also have laws if in accident and found to be deficient in maintenance upkeep your at full fault . . so its not a win for no inspection . . its most get bye and get lucky is all . and as a licensed state vehicle inspector to this day in my state these is also honest and a lot of dis honest ones . so even yearly can get dirty mixed up bad results .

What ebrake pedal or handle are folks using with the tcase mounted brake?

The driveline e-brake is going to function somewhat like an automatic transmission in park. If you park on a hill with 1 tire on ice or mud, that tire can spin backwards, letting the vehicle roll forward on the one with traction. I usually solve that by parking in 4WD and you could do the same with the driveline brake if your hubs are locked. Of course rear wheel parking brakes can also hold the front end with the T-case engaged.

And can't a Detroit locker let 1 wheel roll forward with the driveshaft held in place?

The NV4500 I got had a parking brake on the output. Came out of a ‘95 C3500

I'm willing to bet every brown Santa step van has drive line e brake. And any others similar made since 1990
