I need help with my tcase. I need to know a couple things. It is from behind a th350 so I know the input is 27spline but what about the rear and front output. The rear is a fixed yoke and the front is a rounded off square flange with 4 bolt holes that looks like what is on the front of my old 208. What splines are these outputs, the reason I ask is because I would like to get round flanges for both the front and rear (like what HAD sells). And to change these I just remove the nut, remove the yoke/flange, and then put on new flange and reuse nut? Is it that easy for the front and back, any kind of crush sleeve or anything like the yokes on an axle to worry about? Any help would be great, thanks

front and rear output would be 30 splines. just remove yoke and install new one, no crush sleeves.

All 205 rear outputs are 32 spline, the front having the flange will be a 30 spline. Yes it is that easy to replace. It is always good to use a new nut though.

i thought just the ford rear outputs were 32, not the chevy's? i must be just thinking the fronts. thanks for clarification.

All 205 rear outputs are 32 spline. The Chevy front output will be either 10 or 30 spline (and since you have the flange your will be 30 spline).

Ford front outputs are 32 spline and have many more options for yokes than the 10 or 30 spline stuff, is an easy and direct swap into a Chevy 205.

There are no crush sleeves or anything, remove nut, remove yoke, install new yoke and nut.

10 spline output has nothing to do with transmission, that is the input that will be 10 spline.

only the older 205's like 76 or so and down have 10 spline front outputs.

My '77 had a 10 spline front output.

Also, I'd be willing to bet that there are a lot more 205's from the late 60's to late 70's (10 spline front output) than there were from the late 70's to late 80's (30 spline front output).

In the first era, there were tons of 1/2, 3/4 and 1 ton K-series trucks with 205 behind several transmissions.

In the second era, only the one ton trucks got 205's and even then some got 208's instead.

my 79 blazer has a 30 spline. i have seen more 30 spline then 10 spline. currently i have 1 10 spline at home and 5 30 spline ones. so idk.
