Np205 Rear Output Shaft?

I'm gonna be swapping out the rear slip yoke on my 205 for a fixed yoke. I haven't gotten into a 205 before. Is it possible to swap the rear output shaft without taking it out of the truck. I've heard conflicting yes's and no's on this. Just curious if I can get away without taking the whole doubler out(pain in the ass).

you probably could, but it would be a major pita if you dropped one of the needle bearings into the case, then you'd have to drop it anyway.

You can do it with the case in the truck. If you drop a needle bearing, you can get it by pulling the PTO cover and fish it out with a magnet.
