I started getting a buzzing vibration intermittently in my 81 k30.
So I got to looking around for bad u joints and found that both Tcase outputs have a LOT of up and down wiggle :doah: .
Like 1/4".
I'm still trying to find a kit that covers mine. And while looking I thought maybe there were ones to avoid. Figured I'd ask.
Is there any kits to avoid, kits recommended, etc ?
I'm sure I'll find one, just want to make sure I don't buy a chitty one.

I'm all for buying from ORD but damn they are expensive on this without explanation of what is better. Like nearly 80 bucks higher than some alternatives. One benefit though is they come with idler shims.
MOST of my trans suppliers sell the same rebuild kit just reboxed which leads me to believe there aren not very many true options.

I seen the ord one just a bit ago. Didn't know they sold those.
Almost every other kit I found was for the large bearing one though.
I'd love to have one of those instead, but I don't lol.

Even the one at summit is $220.
Is there a discount for ck5 through ord? That would make it better at least lol.

I bet all the ones with bk205gdm are all the same nachi quest typical rebuild. Transtar, tpw, amp, rigid, drivetrain.com, vital parts and on.

Honestly I rebuilt ryans 205 with his 600hp cummins with the cheapest kit from Amazon.

It will probably be OK.

If you can find a kit with FULL COMPLEMENT needle bearings over most kits caged oned with half the needles .
Is this a full complement? They don't say anything about that on the description.
Free shipping kinda makes me lean this way.
I haven't searched bk205gdm yet.

Those 2 needle bearing units have cages . . . Its not the end of the world but factory was full not caged .

Ah. Now I see what your saying.. I didn't even notice those were needle bearings.

I just said Fock it, and bought the one on Amazon. One of the needle units is full and the other is caged.
Pic looks the same as most of the others so I figured it's like Obijuank5 said and they're all the same lol. It'll be better than it is, and only needs to last a few years.
I have a 4l80 for it, so I'll need a 32 spline unit some day. Be a few years probably though.
