So I gots me a 78 Blazer with maybe a NP205 transfer case. The seals that are around the shift linkage shafts are leaking. There are two shafts that come out of the tranfer case and attach to the shift linkage. The seals around those shafts are where the oil is coming out. Any idea what the seal number are? Trying to find some on Amazon.

Thanks.

P.S. Already tried AT-205.

You’re looking for the “transfer case shift shaft seal“, here is the part number for a 205 (obviously, you’ll need 2).

1 shaft and linkage and out the side sounds like a np203 . . Need pics .
It might be an NP203. Could be a 83k or an 09he? I'm not sure. It has two shift shafts that are on the passenger side and point toward the front of the vehicle. The shafts appear to have removable linage so that the seals could be easily removed without taking the shafts out. I cant say for sure what case I have, but searching google images, it looks like this more or less:

So I'm reading that the NP205 (which I think I have) was primarily used in 1 ton rigs. I have an 8 lug (14 bolt) full floater rear axle, but I assumed that they were 3/4 ton. How do I tell if they are 1 tons?

If it's a Jimmy, it was originally half ton so any 8 lug axle was swapped in.

The 205 was used in 1 tons but it was also the tcase used in any GM '73-'79 truck / SUV that was optioned with part time 4wd. The 205 was also used in '80+ trucks but not all.

The 205 is most easily identified but a smaller, round 3 bolt cover in the center of the rear face of the tcase. (see pic, ignore the red arrow)

I will take a look and see if that little 3 bolt cover is there. If not, I could probably make a 3 bolt cover and glue it on, so that I have the 205. Haha Just kidding! I would not waste time making one - but I could probably get a 3 bolt cover on eBay!

1ton dana 60 for our trucks is 4 bolts/nuts were ball joint nuts would be . And 3 u-bolts and 2 bolts in to pumkin on leaf spring clamp down system .

The 203 is 2 shafts in them self also .

2 shift shafts pointed towards the front of the truck??

The tcase in this particular truck is still a mystery and I’ve (thankfully) never owned a complete 203 but the only shift shafts I’ve ever seen on a 203 come out of the passenger side of the range box and point towards the frame rail.

A 203 does have external shifter linkage connected to the shift shaft levers that runs front to rear but they are a part of the shifter itself, they’re not directly connected to the shift forks.
