I tore apart a transfer case I had that went bad a few months ago with some time off from work and school. Once I got inside it I found that the needle bearings that the input shaft of the tcase rides on let go and those needle bearings tore up the inside of the case with metal shavings everywhere. It also scored this bearing surface really bad where that annulus hub (planetary gear looking thing) rides

Can I still use this case if I can do something about the scored surface? Also any recommendations?

I would look for a different case. Surely there has to be one around for a decent price. I had several of them years ago and couldn't find buyers for them easily, maybe you can find one that is ripe for the pick.

I picked up another one to limp by on, but it currently leaks at the case halves. Luckily this junk case can donate its fairly new chain, and my rebuild kit just came in the mail
