Hey Guys,
can anyone tell me the measurements on a 208 tc ?
Front face (to trans) to both front & rear yoke center ?
Going to swap 203 to a 208, and need to know if drive shafts will have to be re-tubed.

I can tell you right now you will need different length shafts.
The front will be shorter and most likely different yoke.
The rear is about the same length, a bit on the shorter side but completely different shaft.
The 208 is slip yoke, the 203 is a solid yoke with a slip shaft

Is the 241 just a solenoid controlled version of a 208 ?
If so, maybe somebody would tell me the measurements on a 241 ?
The 241 is the same manually shifted tcase as a 208, same dimensions, with some improvements including 2.72 low gear instead of 2.63 with the 208.
The 253 is the solenoid controlled version

I ran a 208 with tons/ lockers and 37's for years with no issue.
241's are crazy priced now, if you can find one.
What's a pass drop np241 vss worth these days? They weren't ultra rare but the years were pretty limited.

Passenger drop 241 was rare, 1 year of mechanical speedo, and 2 years electric speedometer
To add to the limited availability awareness by ‘89~’91 they were only Blazers and Burb’s with them so quantities were nowhere near what they would have been if the actual pickups were included.

They’re still available but quantities will dry up before demand goes away - now is the time to acquire if desired.

Yeah forgot to mention that.

I've seen them advertised for as little as $30 and as much as $110.
I'm still using mech cable because my gauges are oem '76.
Those are probably driver drop units which are a dime a dozen, the passenger drop NP241 is harder to find. If you find a passenger drop NP241 for $30 i will give you $50 lol

Heck! I would triple his money!
:haha:

I guess that I have a better idea how much some of my stash is worth nowadays.

Any thoughts on why one would be different over the other? The technology should be the same, am i missing something ??

Passenger drop, aka 90-91 cases are very hard to come by since they were limited to only k5 and suburbans. They are most sought after by the ls swap crowd due to the vss in the tail housing.

The driver drop cases were made from 88 and up in all the gmt400 rigs, they could work in a older vehicle with a Ford axle swap I suppose.
