is there a difference between the np208 that i took off my '85 sm465/np208...and the np208 i took off my '85 700r4/np208? is there a spline difference, if so....will the one i took off the 700r4 bolt up to a th350?

Yes there is a difference.
465/208 has 32 splines
700r4/208 has 27 splines
The 208 WILL work with the th350 providing you get the necessary spacer to fit between the adaptor and tranny.

The output shaft on the TH350 is about 2 inches shorter than the 700R4. I think advance adapters make a output shaft for the conversion. Check it out at <A target="_blank" HREF=http://www.advanceadpters.com>http://www.advanceadpters.com</A>
