my truck currently has the np208 behind a 700r4 but I have a chance to buy a np205 that was connected to a 465... Will the 205 bolt up? Is it worth switching?

The 208 has a lower 1st, but is chain driven. A big upside to the 205 is that it's a drive flange instead of slip yoke.

You will need a lot to make it work. Driveshafts, 27 spline input for np205 or 27spl 205, coupler, and spacer. maybe more, but what i remember from when i thought about it.

Could be slip yoke 205. Spot on with costs. I’d leave it

How cheap? 32 spline or 10 on the input? I only ask because it could be worth a stash for later.

If it’s a 32 spline 205 on a sm465, that’s a great price. If it’s a 10 spline, it’s about $150 high

Would I have to split the two to tell? Or is there another way? Or are you talking the input shaft on the clutch end?

So like the post above said. A 10 spline will have a pattern that looks like this

and offroad design sells combo spline couplers to mate them together with out swapping the input gear .

Np241 is a damn good transfer case and arguably better than the 208 and 205.

There a dude with a 241 near me for 100 bucks... Should I grab it?

I’d buy it on principle

Not sure where you’re at but it’s worth at least $100

make sure it's passenger side drop
And if it's electric speedo I'll swap my cable stuff with you
