Since I gotta split the case to do the Tom woods slip yoke eliminator kit I figure I might as well take a stab at a rebuild. Any good how to’s out there or kits y’all recommend? Figure if nothing else a new chain and seals.

I appreciate it. I watched a couple of videos and other than the needle bearings, it didn't look that hard to tear down and put back together. Finally give me the excuse I need to buy a bearing and seal driver kit.

Anyone know why they would choose to do the individual needle bearings instead of a unit bearing?

When I did my 241 those bearing were caged. The new shaft is a later design and does not use bearing at that point. Use the new shaft to press the two sleeved units out.. The 241 is simpler than the 208, that is for sure. The 205 is the same way with all the loose needle bearings, must have been a material cost saving. It not a labor cost saving.
